Bo is a native of Cordele, Georgia. He is a graduate of Georgia Southern College (1983) and the University of Georgia School of Law (1986) and has practiced law in Albany since 1987.
Bo served on the City Commission, as Commissioner for Ward IV, from 2000-2007. He ran for Mayor and was defeated in 2007.
Bo and his wife, Bonny Blackshear, have three sons, Sanders, Daniel, and Burton. The family attends First Presbyterian Church.
